doing my part
March 26th, 2003
*U.S.A.* - San Francisco during the lunch rush hour.
*Update:* So, after a day of displaying my American pride and support for our service men and women, I plan on showing that support every day until the war ends or the anti-war protesters stop. We all know which will happen first.
Little news about some fun I had with some “bicycle” protesters today. After I started walking towards the mass transit I use to go home, some protesters noticed my rather *large* sign and started shouting at me with their little signs. Of course, I shouted back
I then stood on top of a large granite wall and sang the Star Spangled Banner. The protesters weren’t thrilled. They started mocking me, calling me an idiot, telling me I don’t understand, and that I should “convert” to their cause. All the while, a large group of police officers were standing nearby laughing at the protesters trying to harass me. I just sang louder and louder!
What made me very happy was that people all over the city supported me and the U.S. People cheered, nodded their approval, gave me a thumbs up, shouted “Thank you!”, and someone even gave me a nice sticker that reads “September 11, 2001 or did we forget already? Support our troops.”. I promptly placed it on my sign. Thank you all for supporting America!
And yes, I did make at least two local news broadcasts. I’ll be receiving the tape footage soon.
See you next time!
