Game Boy comes home Patriots take over City Hall

SF has pro troops rally

March 29th, 2003

San Francisco City Hall is in the news again as a group of people came together to show support for U.S. troops:

Carrying American flags and stepping to the sounds of country music, a small but determined group of people rallied in San Francisco on Saturday to show support for U.S. troops in Iraq in a city that has been home to perhaps the most active U.S. anti-war movement.

San Francisco, long a bastion of liberal dissent, has been a flashpoint of anti-war sentiment in recent weeks, with more than 2,000 people arrested since the start of the war alone.

But Saturday afternoon a few hundred “American Patriots” transformed the front lawn of City Hall into something that could have come straight out of the more traditional U.S. Midwest, where conservative values and patriotism play a bigger role in the social landscape.

Good work folks!
