“Remember last year”:http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/baseball/mlb/kansas_city_royals/4111372.htm when two fans at a Chicago White Sox game against the Kansas City Royals attacked the Royals third base coach? Well, a different idiot “decided to attack an umpire”:http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/kc/news/kc_news.jsp?ymd=20030416&content_id=275895&vkey=news_kc&fext=.jsp during a game last night against the same two teams. What happened this time was the right fielder for Kansas City took the guy down fast and hard:

“It’s one thing when fans go out on the field, it’s brutal, but when they come on the field to do harm, that’s when it gets scary,” first baseman Mike Sweeney said. “Last year we had fans here do it to Tom Gamboa and this year they did it to an umpire, Laz Diaz. Hopefully, fans are going to think twice before they come on the field again because it’s fair game, we’re protecting our guys, our team and our family. Someone comes to jeopardize their health, we’re going to react in an aggressive way.”

Oh, yeah. Beat the crap out of the guy. I did see a nice head bandage on the attacker, looks like they got in a “few good licks”:http://www.msnbc.com/news/901103.asp.

Several Royals players could be seen kicking and stomping the fan while he was pinned down. When the attacker was put into a police car, his head was wrapped with a white bandage, soaked with blood near the right temple.

Lock that guy away and throw away the key. *Moron*.
