LeBron Is Not MJ

October 30th, 2003

I admit it, “I talked about LeBron”:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/gate/archive/2003/10/30/fool250.DTL. Being a long time basketball fan how couldn’t I. I did happen to watch his debut game last night, mainly due to the fact that it was against my Sacramento Kings.

He looked good, sometimes trying to not act like a rookie 18 year old, while other times he was. But I’m siding with the “Betting Fool”:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/gate/archive/2003/10/30/fool250.DTL on LeBron, I was quite sick of hearing just how great he looked or the fact that his new Nike shoes will be available soon for a cheap $110 (MJs were $125 back in the day).

I also couldn’t stand to watch when the refs would call some fairly cheap fouls in favor of LeBron. I thought NBA veterans got those calls not 18 year old, Hummer driving kids but I guess not when the NBA hype machine is rolling and rolling it is.

I’m not sure I’m going to be able to withstand the onslaught that is LeBron for the whole season, as every night ESPN will make some mention of him.

MJ, are you sure you don’t want to come back once more? Please…
