Erm… P-Mate

Why? I don’t know mate. But I’m guessing women should “keep it handy at all times”:http://www.gizmodo.com/archives/pmate-016659.php. Hahaha!

Wayward Ghost

Blizzard “announced late last week”:http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/22/news_6101105.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news that once again “Starcraft: Ghost”:http://www.blizzard.com/ghost/ will be delayed. They’ve also announced that the development studio “Nihilistic Software”:http://www.nihilistic.com/ is no longer working on the project.

I’ve been looking forward to this game for quite awhile now having been a huge Starcraft fan ever since I saw my buddy playing it on a PC many moons ago. The agony of waiting for the Mac version almost broke me but alas almost two years after the PC release Starcraft made it out for the Mac and I was hooked.

It’s been almost two years now since Blizzard announced Starcraft: Ghost. The game has suffered one delay already, being pushed back from a 2003 release to 2004. Now it seems that SC: Ghost won’t find it’s way to my GameCube this year at all.

Reading “Penny-Arcade”:http://www.penny-arcade.com this morning had me a little worried about the gameplay that SC: Ghost has evolved into. Sounds like the last playable, which was at this years E3, had turned the game more towards action and less stealth. The biggest draw for me towards Ghost was the fact that you get to play the stealthy character from the RTS series, Ghost. What would be the point of the game if there wasn’t any stealth action?

I feel for the guys and gals of Nihilistic, getting cut from a high profile project is not a good thing at all. Hopefully they can recover as they’re a promising young studio on the up and up. Hopefully Blizzard knows what they’re doing and Ghost will be released in classic Blizzard form. I’m fearful that Ghost may turn into “Warcraft Adventures”:http://www.gamespot.com/features/pcgraveyard/, Blizzard’s axed point and click adventure from years past.

Thought This Might Happen

As you can see I’ve been a little busy lately. No sooner than I became completely addicted to FFXI, I am now knee deep in my beta testing duties with “World of Warcraft”:http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/ and I see no end in sight.

I don’t feel to bad anymore though. No sooner than I became addicted to WoW, a game that was meant for my daughter has now become an addiction for my wife. “Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life”:http://www.nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=m-Game-0000-1243 has capivated my wife as much as WoW has overtaken mine.

I always knew she wanted to be a farmer and now she can be without forcing me to live in a barn, although sometimes I think that may happen regardless. I’ve tried playing the game myself but everything time I do I get a barrage of “do this” and “do that’s” from both of the girls in the house making the experience feel more like a circus. Truth be told, I may never get a chance to play the game or my Gamecube for that matter again.

*shrug*… I guess that’s why I’m addicted to WoW now :)

False Hope And Fantasy

914513_20031209_thumb001.jpgMicrosoft Japan announced that they’ve “cancelled True Fantasy Online”:http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/02/news_6099836.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news, the first MMORPG for XBox, due to lack of progress in development.

I feel for the guys are Level 5, developers of the great Dark Cloud series on PS2, because this is a title I would have actually played i.e. buying an XBox to due so. Too bad Level 5 got into bed with MS as I’m sure Sony would have loved to have published TFO.

But alas, Microsoft has again failed to deliver any truly unique content to the console gaming scene, opting for the ever so boring online FPS game and the occasional solo RPG, err one named “KOTOR”:http://www.bioware.com/.
