Leafy Green and Hot Fire Red

The latest round of Pokemon games for Game Boy Advance have made their way into the hands of me; Target had them on sale for $25.88 each, had to pick up both of course. Since I’m a big meany, I picked Pokemon LeafGreen and left Autumn to pout over FireRed. Turns out though she actually liked red, haha! Kids…

Joe over at Fourhman.com is running with his Poke Diary again, this time LeafNotes (hehe). Really funny stuff coming from an “older” Pokefan, like myself. I wonder when my daughter will no longer think I’m “cool” but more weird because Dad still plays Pokemon… haha!

pkfrlg001.pngI only played about 30 minutes today on the bus into work, got my starter Pokemon Bulbasaur (why? I have no idea. Never started with grass before I guess) and captured a few other Pokemon hiding about. Autumn on the other hand played quite a bit last night and I suspect when I come home tonight she’ll really be rolling on her Pokedex.

One thing that jumped out at me while reading the manual was the game no longer supports the Nintendo e-Reader. How sad is that? They trick me into buying this device, which required two GBAs thus requiring a link cable which then required the cards and now they don’t work? Pfft. Thanks for that Nintendo. I just freaking hope my Pokemon Jirachi GameCube disc works or I’m calling Redmond and getting some answers.

The free wireless adapter is a nice touch though making trading between Autumn and myself more frequent and easy I’m sure. Leave it to Nintendo to give me something new whilst taking something away. What a love hate relationship we have…
