Sony will also release a stand alone PSP 2.0 update via their web site at some point as not all users have access to Wi-Fi. The file has not yet been posted.

I have been checking all day and nothing. I have done a network update on a few different wireless access points and it still says that I have the most up to date software which is 1.52 or so. Damnit sony release the damn software, I am about to just load the Japanese version LOL.

I’m looking very forward to US 2.0 but haven’t found any evidence of it as of yet. I was thinking off and on about it at work today and checked right when I got home. I guess I’ll go and do something constructive with my time. I might just wait and check back on the 15th…maybe Fatman is right. Curious bit of mis-info from Sony if he is right. Rather vague “week of” etc…. who knows. Check back in a few days I guess. Won’t kill me not to surf with my PSP, I guess. I hate let downs like this one though. Good luck guys.
One other thought. Sadly I think the only reason I’m so looking forward to the browser feature is that my PSP has been collecting dust for the last 6 wks at least. I bought it the day it came out…actually I love it….just “WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THE GOOD GAMES???”. AHHH!! Sorry just had to get that off my chest.

Don’t count on it being released on Monday the 15th. Sony stated “the week of August 15th” which gives them some room to play with.

August 16 and still no upgrade. The problem is Sony don’t care what americans think about them just the money we spend. We’ll see what they will think when people buy the xbox360 and Don’t trust sony anymore to purchase the ps3 which i hear is going to be very expensive. They released the PSP with not much games after. I Already have friends which are trading their PSP for the down payment on the xbox 360. Sony should remember that one time nintendo and sega reign as king and they fell. It could happen to them. As for me I’m just tired of the way they treat us.
What ever you do dont down load the japan version
if it messes up your psp warranty will not cover it
just wanted to say i think sony is making us hold out so we get the japan version. that way more warranties will be void.so dont be impatient. it is not worth losing your warranty so you can have the update sooner.

I’m very upset with Sony. It’s friday 3:15 pm and no sign of the update. I’ve also been very busy with the xbox360 news lately and already put full payment on the system and down payment on the games. So pretty soon Sony is going to be nothing but a bad memory once the xbox360 comes out. I’ve said it alot lately Sony don’t care about us. So why should we give a f**ck

hey still here it is 1:00am and there is still no update… i’m sure they will have it by tommorow and we will all be HAPPY i am just so pissed b/c of the fact that i cant have it and i was expecting it to come earlier… i mean i have the internet here in all… i just want to see how sweet it looks on that bright crisp lcd screen the psp has. sony has helped me a ton with my playstation 2. it broke and they fixed it for free for me and the games that i had scratched they gave me a refund. so i know that sony will pull through but if they dont i will know it will be a pretty big issue. so i will be checking up occasionally and seeing what is going on and hoping that the update will be available tommorow! they had to wait to the last minute. lol. o well i’m sure it will be here tommorow!

sweet, they said something like it was a risk to do that and you should just wait until the u.s version comes out but i am hearing about people using the jap version on their u.s. psp’s and they say it works fine.

yup its smashed and in the mail on its way back to sony…..oh yeah..I took half of it back to EB with my warranty and got a new one but at least sony will understand that we will not be taken with false answers tyo our questions….LIE TO US AGAIN SONY AND ILL BUY AN xbox 360 instead of a ps3…
