I’m currently participating in the 24in48.org group moblog for the greater SF bay area. Really interesting and fun. I basically moblog my life over the course of 48 hours which started at midnight on Friday and lasts until midnight Sunday. Go check it out!

No, it’s not a miracle but I have updated my photo blog with new photos and a fresh look. Removed all the side navigation and other extraneous junk in order to turn the focus to the photos. Dumped the monthly and category archives and added thumbnails for the last 5 new photos on the index page. I don’t think I’m completely done with the new look but it’s more than enough to get the job done.
I’ve been neglecting the photo blog recently but I hope to update it more frequently with fresh photos.
Enjoy!

Finally got off my butt and updated the photo gallery with the latest and greatest from Aiden. Added a few more photos to the “November album”:http://www.snapturtle.com/gallery/album35 and added the “December album”:http://www.snapturtle.com/gallery/album36. Oh yes, that means Aiden will turn one this month… wow!
Yes, I know, I didn’t mention anything about the Christmas photos. They’re coming, promise. I have a lot, from 3 different parties so I have a lot of cleaning to do in order to get the best of the best.
I also have a bunch of photos to add of Autumn, I’ve been slacking on those as well. Frankly I’m surprised I even kept up this well considering we take a lot of photos and most of them just get burnt to DVD never been seen again.

( Aiden - just under 4 months - May 2003 )

( Aiden - 4 1/2 months - June 2003 )
Added more photos of Aiden since “last months update”:/archives/000264.php. Be sure to check out the new photos in the “May gallery”:/gallery/album16 as well as the addition of the new “June gallery”:/gallery/album18.
It’s just amazing that he is growing so fast. As a parent, it’s hard to actually see the growth each day but by taking a lot of photos I’m able to see what I normally would miss.
Looking back, we took a ton of photos of Autumn up until age 3 or 4, tailing off around that time. Granted, we still took photos of her (and still do), just not the insane amounts a parent does with a younger child. In light of this, I’m going to make an effort to be sure to photograph Autumn more often and include her photos in “her gallery”:/gallery/autumn. At some point I hope to go back into the photo archives and digitize her younger years for safe keeping. Wish me luck!

( Anime street painting style )
While looking for something to do yesterday for Father’s Day (besides staying inside until 3pm in the afternoon playing video games with Autumn), we decided to visit the street painting festival that was occuring in downtown San Rafael. San Rafael is a small town north of San Francisco on the 101, where I grew up actually.
We all had a good time, looking at the very incredible paintings. Autumn was very interested in the art work, numerous times attempting to run off and look at more as Mommy & Daddy were moving too slow. She actually wanted to pick up some of the chalk and start painting. Had I known that she was actually allowed to in a special area for a small fee of $10, I would have let her. Of course, I didn’t find this out until we were leaving for dinner and the festival was ending. Doh!
Be sure to check out of the other photos in the “moblog”:/moblog/ and in the “gallery”:http://www.snapturtle.com/gallery/album17, including one of the “Sistine Chapel ceiling”:http://www.snapturtle.com/gallery/album17/DSC01178.

Hard to believe but in just 8 more days Aiden will be 4 months old. Time flies…

Ted has brought back some memories of years past when together we would ride our mountain bikes until we’d both fall over. The following photo was taken July 29, 1996 (I removed the date stamp with Photoshop) by Ted while I was “trying” to look cool. Ha ha!

I have a ton more photos from those days where we’re attempting to be mountain bike racers and all that jazz. Oh yes, I’ll post some, don’t worry. I even have photos from my first ever race where I bonked hard due to lack of training and energy. Maybe the Mammoth Lakes 10,000 foot peek was the problem? Or maybe it was getting my front wheel stuck in lose dirty on a tight corner which caused me to flip over the handle bars.
Those were the days… *sniff sniff*.

Found this gem of Autumn at age 8 months while going through some old scanned slides. She loved to eat “noodles” and still loves them to this day.

Notice she doesn’t have any hair which she didn’t have until about age 2 years!

During an afternoon photo taking session I happened upon a lone tree that was casting a very interesting shadow of itself. The tree actually wasn’t very pretty, mostly bear but the shadow wouldn’t tell that part of the story.
